Work Environment
This position offers flexibility through a remote work environment, allowing you to connect with students, families, and faculty from the comfort of your own home. You will collaborate with educational staff from various schools in Laredo, Texas, to develop effective interventions tailored to student needs. As part of a larger multidisciplinary team, you'll leverage telehealth technologies and digital resources to facilitate communication, maintain case documentation, and support students effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate emotional, social, and financial needs of students, providing clear documentation of findings.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic modalities to address students’ challenges, including anxiety, depression, family dynamics, and coping strategies.
Engage in individual and group counseling sessions, fostering a safe environment for students to express their feelings and concerns, and encouraging positive coping mechanisms.
Work collaboratively with teachers, school counselors, and healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive support network for students, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication regarding student progress.
Provide training and workshops for school staff on mental health awareness, crisis intervention techniques, and strategies to create an inclusive and supportive school culture.
Coordinate with community organizations and mental health agencies to facilitate referrals for further services, ensuring a seamless transition of care post-discharge.
Document all interactions, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with state regulations and insurance requirements, ensuring accurate record-keeping and confidentiality.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily serve students ranging from early childhood through high school, addressing a wide variety of mental health challenges. Your work will directly impact students facing traumatic experiences, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances, emphasizing the holistic support needed in an academic environment.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
Broad understanding of child and adolescent development, educational commitments, and mental health disorders affecting young people.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and data management.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of two years of experience working in a healthcare or school-based setting, providing mental health assistance to students and families.
Experience in crisis intervention and familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused counseling.
Strong understanding of local community resources and programs available for mental health support.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a robust salary, we provide:
