Position Overview Addiction Therapy Services is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a full-time mental health counselor. In this role, you will provide exceptional outpatient therapy services remotely from the comfort of your own home while contributing significantly to the treatment of clients struggling with mood disorders and addiction recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate clients to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, creating a comprehensive understanding of their unique situations.

Formulate tailored treatment plans that address clients' specific needs, personal goals, and treatment preferences, ensuring a holistic approach to therapy.

Utilize evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage their symptoms effectively.

Educate clients and their families about mood disorders and the treatment process, guiding them through various self-care practices and coping mechanisms.

Continuously monitor client progress by tracking therapeutic gains and adjusting treatment plans based on their evolving needs.

Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to integrate treatment and ensure comprehensive care.

Stay current on research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic practices and client outcomes.

Maintain accurate and confidential records that adhere to both legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring the privacy and dignity of all clients.

Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and contribute to team effectiveness.

Advocate for clients by addressing the stigmatization of mental health issues and fostering a supportive treatment environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily focuses on clients who are struggling with mood disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and those in the midst of addiction recovery. As an LMFT at Addiction Therapy Services, you will engage with a diverse spectrum of individuals, catering to their emotional, psychological, and relational needs while facilitating their journey toward improved mental health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful therapist-client relationships.

Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients' experiences and struggles.

Strong organizational and time management skills necessary for effective workload management and administrative tasks.

Preferred Experience

Experience in treating mood disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities like CBT and DBT.

Previous experience working with clients in addiction recovery is highly desirable.

A background in community mental health settings is an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
