Position Overview Heluna Behavioral Health is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. Work Environment This position is primarily remote, enabling counselors to work from home while providing support to clients in an outpatient office setting. Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments for clients in immediate mental health emergencies, using evidenced-based techniques to evaluate their needs accurately.

Engage in direct counseling sessions with individuals seeking rapid assistance, ensuring that they receive timely and effective therapeutic interventions.

Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams to ensure the safety of clients during critical situations, acting as a liaison between parties involved.

Provide ongoing follow-up care, tracking client progress and suggesting appropriate resources to facilitate sustained recovery and support.

Implement crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation methods, particularly in high-stress scenarios involving suicidal ideation or acute trauma.

Participate in continuous education and training opportunities, enhancing skills in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapies.

Patient Population / Client Focus As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Heluna, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing addiction, trauma, emotional crises, and other mental health challenges. Our client demographics vary widely, including adolescents and adults facing urgent mental health concerns. Your expertise will directly impact clients’ lives by navigating them through crises, mitigating harm, and fostering paths toward recovery.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution, providing a strong foundation in therapeutic practices.

Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential, reflecting your qualifications to practice in this field.

Minimum of three years’ recent experience in providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling, demonstrating a solid understanding of the complexities of mental health issues.

Preferred Experience

Additional training or specialization in trauma-informed care or crisis counseling will enhance your ability to support our diverse clientele effectively.

Experience in employing evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies in high-pressure environments.
