Position Overview American Medical Associates is actively seeking a passionate and qualified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to fill a vital role in our outpatient practice. Key Responsibilities

Provide therapeutic services through individual, family, and couples counseling sessions using structured methods and validated techniques.

Perform comprehensive mental status examinations to accurately assess and monitor changes in clients' mental health.

Develop and modify personalized treatment plans, employing creative therapeutic techniques to help clients achieve their mental health goals.

Build and maintain effective, respectful relationships with clients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate communication and care coordination.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to client care, engaging in regular team discussions to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to clients as needed, ensuring a responsive and compassionate approach during challenging times.

Stay abreast of the latest developments in mental health treatment methodologies, integrating new approaches where applicable to enhance the effectiveness of therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus The licensed therapist will work primarily with a diverse client base, including individuals and families coping with a range of mental health issues. Our patient population may consist of those facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and other emotional disturbances. With a focus on inclusivity, we value the unique identities and experiences of each client, striving to create therapeutic environments that respect and affirm their backgrounds.

Qualifications

A valid Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology or a related field.

Eligibility to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and relevant licensure.

Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust and effective relationships with patients and team members.

A compassionate and empathetic disposition that informs your approach to therapy and client engagement.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual team setting, contributing to shared goals and team dynamics.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 2 years of direct experience providing therapy in outpatient settings.

Familiarity with electronic health record systems and virtual patient management tools.

Specialized training or certifications in areas such as trauma-informed care or cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits We value our employees’ contributions and offer a competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
