This role will work on a hybrid schedule, 3 days onsite in San Diego, CA.Key Responsibilities: Staff AWS Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and enhance cloud security controls across AWS environments Monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents Conduct security assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies Partner with infrastructure, application, and engineering teams to integrate security best practices Develop and maintain cloud security standards, policies, and architecture As a Staff AWS Cloud Security Engineer, you will support the security of AI/ML-related platforms, data pipelines, and deployment environments Lead security-focused projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesRequirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or security engineering 3+ years of hands-on AWS security experience Experience with AI/ML technology required Experience with incident response, threat detection, risk assessments, and vulnerability management Strong knowledge of IAM, CloudTrail, Security Hub, GuardDuty, KMS, VPC, and related AWS services Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences* AWS Security certification required; Additional security certifications are a plusJob TypeDirect HireCompensation170000 - $205000
