We offer a casual work environment and highly flexible arrangements, including flexible work hours and compressed workweeks.Position OverviewAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical engineering lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of industrial facility projects. From initial concept and design through to final startup support, you will collaborate with electrical designers and a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver detailed drawing packages and high-quality engineering deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design: Complete low- and medium-voltage electrical engineering calculations, documentation packages, plans, sections, and details according to industry and client standards.Compliance & Codes: Expertly apply extensive knowledge of relevant industry codes, including NFPA 70, 70E, 30, 58, and 497, NEMA, API 500 & 540, and IEEE.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with mechanical, civil, process, and structural engineers to identify efficiencies and resolve design conflicts. Work closely with electrical designers to develop and verify one-line diagrams, conduit/grounding plans, area classifications, control panel layouts, bills of materials, P&IDs, and PLC/DCS wiring diagrams.Project & Client Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and electrical utilities regarding new or upgraded service installations. Coordinate project deliverables, timelines, and interdisciplinary needs.Construction & Vendor Support: Review contractor construction submittals, respond to RFIs, and coordinate directly with equipment vendors to review and approve technical specifications.Business Development: Support growth opportunities by assisting with proposal preparation, scoping, and budgeting.Mentorship & Travel: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Travel between 15% to 20% within the United States for site investigations, design reviews, and construction support.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: 10+ years of experience executing industrial sector projects from concept through commissioning (estimating, start-up, etc.). Specific experience in oil/gas, refinery, pulp and paper, or heavy industrial environments is required.Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution.Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with power system modeling software (SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower). Expert ability to perform voltage drop, cable tray fill/sizing, conduit sizing, and equipment sizing calculations.Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of protection devices (MCCBs, power circuit breakers, fuses, and relay protection).
