General duties will include the design of power distribution systems on or within airport, commercial, governmental, and industrial facilities; lighting and lighting controls; and integration of fire alarm, voice/data, electronic access controls, multimedia, CCTV, and other low voltage systems. This assignment will involve periodic travel, including out of state travel, to meet project requirements.Specific Anticipated TasksLightning protection and other grounding systemsCommercial building electrical, lighting and communications distribution designSite lighting designElectrical medium voltage distributionGenerator systemsEmergency transfer switchesLow Voltage Power distribution systems for buildings and facilitiesRenewable energy sourcesFire alarm systemsNurse call systemsTelephone systemsMultimedia Systems and Intelligent ClassroomsSecurity systems (Electronic Access Controls, Closed Circuit Television Systems and Intrusion Detection Systems)What We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Skills:Knowledge of electrical, building, and energy codesAbility to collaborate on multiple projects concurrentlyAbility to assume task leadership responsibilities by providing guidance to CAD/Revit technicians and other Engineers/DesignersExperience observing field conditions, electrical construction, and the ability to effectively communicate with contractorsStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong understanding of power system design analysisFamiliarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and REVITFamiliarity with Lighting Calculation Software i.e., Visual, AGI32Familiarity with Generator sizing software i.e., Cummins Power Suite, Cat Electric Power SpecsizerFamiliarity with voltage drop, fault current and arc flash calculators i.e., EDR, Easypower, SKM, Design MasterFamiliarity with energy analysis software i.e. ComCheck and FLACOM EnergyGaugeEducation/Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical EngineeringLicensure as a professional engineer in Electrical Engineering or the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) monthsMinimum of 5 years in the consulting professional services industry, in the Electrical Engineering DisciplineSpecific technical experience with the preparation of electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittals review and construction administration.
