Our global capabilities provide our partners with even broader flexibility in underwriting solutions.The qualities and capabilities of Crum & Forster Accident & Health demonstrate our philosophy of building meaningful, long-term partnerships and our dedication to providing alternative strategies in an ever-changing insurance market.Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team: The Operations department within Crum & Forster’s Accident & Health division is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support core accounting functions for the business. This is an entry-level accounting role that works with internal teams, including Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, and IT, as well as external business partners. The role is designed for someone building foundational accounting experience and requires attention to detail, organization, curiosity, and the ability to manage recurring responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.What you will do:Assist with recurring accounting activities, including preparation of journal entries, reinsurance statements, and period-close supportPerform general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliationsSupport internal and external audit requests by gathering and organizing requested documentationProcess payments and support related documentation and follow-up, as neededParticipate in the documentation and improvement of assigned financial and operational processesDevelop and maintain positive working relationships across functional teams to help resolve issues and support department deadlinesProvide backup support for other functions within the accounting unit and assist with ad hoc assignments, as neededWhat YOU will bring to C&F:Foundational accounting knowledge and an interest in continuing to build accounting skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilityCuriosity, accountability, and pride in work productMotivation to produce accurate, high-quality work and follow through on assigned responsibilitiesAbility to read and interpret complex information with moderate supervisionAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detailAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentClear written and verbal communication skillsRequirements:High school diploma required, Bachelor’s in accounting or finance preferred.3+ years of equivalent work experienceStrong Microsoft Excel experience required, Tableau is a plusMicrosoft Word, Outlook and Power Point experience

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $44,000.00 to a maximum of $64,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
