Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior Intelligent Transportation System/Traffic Engineer (Hybrid) based in Houston, TX. This position will lead and assist with ITS design projects, Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSMO), Concept of Operations, ITS architectures, emerging technology planning/design/programming. This will include but is not limited to support of plan reviews, ITS planning, concept of operations, task lead, mentoring junior staff on ITS/electrical projects.Serves as a task lead for the management and development of ITS plans/programsDetermining ITS program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse ITS related activitiesProvides guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineersDevelop Scope of Services for ITS planning, programming, design & emerging technology projectsProvide oversight and direction to project team members and subconsultantsDevelop and maintain project schedulesPerforms work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule with minimal supervisionIndependently problem solve items for projects; work with project managers to execute design projectsServe as a technical expert for ITS/electrical projectsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Engineer (PE) License requiredPreferred Qualifications:Traffic signal design, signing and striping design, and ITS design experienceExperience with ITS system and design principles, standards, guidelines, processes, operations, and policyExperience with ITS system and design principles, standards, guidelines, processes, operations, and policyUp to Date on latest ITS technologies/vendorsPrepare technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distributionProficient in MicroStation, Excel, Word, Google EarthPS&E experience with fiber and wireless networks, CCTV, DMSProject experience with TxDOT, City agenciesExcellent written/communication skillsAdditional InformationSponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the futureAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
