Job Description
This job is posted on behalf of The Grenzy Recruiting Group, LLC by Top Echelon.
Our client, a small but growing local organization, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its finance team and take ownership of a broad range of accounting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers but is equally comfortable working with technology, financial systems, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting along with a willingness to learn new systems and find more efficient ways to accomplish the work. This position will have hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and period-end activities.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Apply accounting principles and company policies to maintain reliable financial records.
Full cycle accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and application of payments.
Accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor management, and check runs.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and other supporting accounting documentation.
Assist with month-end close activities and help ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
Use the organization's accounting and financial planning systems to ensure accurate reporting.
Look for opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes.
Research discrepancies and unusual activity and help determine appropriate resolutions.
Assist with internal and external audit requests.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
The role is particularly well suited for someone who enjoys learning technology, improving processes, and finding smarter ways to work rather than simply following established accounting routines.
Benefits
Hybrid work environment
Paid time off and company holidays
401(k) plan with company participation
Company-paid employee health, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
Additional voluntary benefits
Opportunity for professional growth and increased responsibility
