Job Description
Family Law Attorney — Ontario, CA | $120,000 - $200,000
We're a fast-growing family law firm (300% growth in 3 years) handling divorce, custody, and support for clients with $200k–$3M in household assets. We're looking for a 4-8 year attorney who can run cases now — negotiate, litigate, and write without hand-holding.
The Role
Represent clients at RFOs, DVROs, MSCs, and Trials — Ontario, San Bernardino, Riverside, LA, and Orange County courts
Draft MSC and Trial documents
Negotiate settlements directly with opposing counsel
Direct paralegals and case managers on discovery and document strategy — you're not doing admin work yourself. They prepare judicial council forms, declarations, and pleadings at your direction.
Hybrid: work remote except for in-person hearings
What You Need
Active CA Bar license, 4-8 years family law litigation experience
Comfortable owning a caseload with minimal oversight
Strong legal writing — persuasive, not padded
Excellent litigation skills for hearings and trials
Able to drive to hearings across the Inland Empire and LA/OC
Comfortable in a paperless, multi-monitor tech setup
What We Offer
$120,000–$200,000 base + performance and retention bonuses
PTO, 401(k), flexible hours
A support team that actually handles the document grind so you can focus on casework
Compensation:
$120,000 - up to $200,000 with performance bonuses
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in RFO hearings, DVROs, MSCs, and Trials on divorce, custody, and support matters
Take depositions (occasionally)
Draft and review pleadings and declarations; oversee Paralegals and Case Managers
Meet with clients (phone, Zoom, in-person) to set strategy and gather case information
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
Direct evidence and discovery strategy — assign fact-gathering to Paralegals, manage document procurement
Genuine warmth with clients who are scared, angry, or overwhelmed — able to hold empathy and give hard truths in the same conversation
Qualifications:
Who We Are Looking For

Confident developing case strategy — knows the relevant case law and statutes and how to build a discovery and case plan
Skilled at digging through financial documents and organizing discovery to build a client's position
Strong negotiator who can settle cases on terms that actually serve the client
Genuine warmth with clients who are scared, angry, or overwhelmed — able to hold empathy and give hard truths in the same conversation
Clear, persuasive legal writing
Seeking an Attorney who thrives in litigation, possesses courtroom expertise, and confidently represents clients and the firm.
Looking for someone with exceptional writing abilities, capable of crafting persuasive and concise declarations.
A solid understanding of California Family Law nuances is essential, with experience handling cases involving estates ranging from $200,000 to $3 million.

CA Bar license, active and in good standing
Comfortable in a paperless office running multiple monitors and case management software
