Salary: $93,700 - 222,985 per year
Requirements:
At least 5 years of professional experience using AI/ML to develop commercially valuable data science solutions
Experience with electronic health records or unstructured data analysis
Strong knowledge of traditional AI/ML methods, including supervised and unsupervised learning, model validation, deep learning, and NLP
Strong understanding of NLP and generative AI, including the ability to use, fine-tune, and evaluate commercial models and integrate local LLMs
Hands-on experience building generative AI applications, such as RAG systems, LLM evaluation frameworks, or internal AI tools
Strong Python skills, with some experience in R and/or SQL
Proficiency with Databricks or a comparable cloud model-development environment, including MLflow, experiment management, data catalogs, and compute configuration
Understanding of software engineering practices such as version control, unit testing, local development, and environment management
Familiarity with ML Engineering and MLOps concepts and tools, including CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS Lambda, and Linux
Degree in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or economics
Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand client analytical needs, plan and deliver solutions, and explain findings in business terms
Customer-focused, results-oriented approach, with adaptability, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to contribute where needed
Ability to work effectively in a small team with minimal oversight, manage projects and timelines, and direct others work
Preferred: Relevant masters degree or FCAS/FSA actuarial designation
Preferred: Experience in healthcare, insurance, finance, life sciences, InsurTech, or FinTech
Preferred: Experience working in a HIPAA-, PHI-, or PCI-compliant environment
Responsibilities:
Research, develop, deploy, and maintain traditional AI/ML models using industry best practices
Work with generative AI models to create solutions for internal and external use cases across markets, and strengthen our capabilities through shared tools and thought leadership
Partner with data scientists and colleagues in Product, Business Development, ML Engineering, and IT to develop new data science products and support existing offerings
Collaborate with business development and product teams to build and implement commercially viable model-based solutions for healthcare, insurance, life sciences, and adjacent markets
Contribute to data science best practices and continuous improvement through model design, experimentation planning, audits, peer reviews, and coaching
Construct, validate, document, and deliver advanced generative AI and machine learning solutions for healthcare-related challenges
