Position Overview
We are seeking a Full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our outpatient psychiatry practice located in Dunkirk, New York. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients experiencing mood disorders, including evaluating the severity, frequency, and impacts of their symptoms.
Collaborate with clients to devise individualized treatment plans, utilizing their input to align therapeutic goals with their values and preferences.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate meaningful progress for clients.
Monitor client progress through regular follow-up sessions and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Educate clients and family members about mood disorders, treatment options, and relapse prevention strategies to empower sustainable mental health practices.
Work in tandem with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate integrated treatment approaches and continuity of care.
Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continued education opportunities to refine clinical skills and stay informed about advancements in mood disorder treatment.
Advocate for the mental health needs of clients by participating in community outreach initiatives aimed at destigmatization and education.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a therapist at Brighter Days Mental Health Center, you will focus on individuals who are facing mood disorders including anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, and bipolar disorder. Our diverse clientele spans various ages, backgrounds, and life experiences, allowing for a rich opportunity to understand and address different perspectives and needs within mental health care.
Qualifications
A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
Proficient in evidence-based treatment methodologies for mood disorders, including CBT and DBT.
In-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology to effectively collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare staff.
Demonstrated success in achieving positive client outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build strong therapeutic relationships with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Experience
We value candidates who possess at least three years of post-licensure experience working within a clinical setting, particularly in treating mood disorders. Prior involvement in interdisciplinary care teams, familiarity with remote therapy tools, and ongoing training in emerging treatment methods will be considered significant advantages.
Compensation and Benefits
