Position Overview New Path Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide critical therapeutic services to adults facing the challenges of trauma and related mental health conditions. This full-time, remote position requires a skilled professional who can assess trauma histories, implement individualized care plans, and support ongoing recovery efforts using evidence-based methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments focused on uncovering trauma histories and developing appropriate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Implement evidence-based treatment modalities, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for patients to discuss experiences, develop coping strategies, and cultivate healing.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.

Provide crisis intervention services and support patients during trauma-related emergencies, utilizing trauma-informed techniques.

Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and the resources available for support.

Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in training sessions, case consultations, and staying abreast of current research in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus This role focuses on supporting adults, including veterans, survivors of abuse, and individuals dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences. Our clinic serves a diverse population, and the therapist will be instrumental in helping patients develop adaptive coping strategies, enhance resilience, and experience healing transformation within a compassionate framework.

Qualifications

Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.

Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

Preferred Experience

At least two years of post-licensure experience providing direct therapy services.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate presence in therapeutic relationships.

Ability to remain calm and collected in high-stress situations and effectively manage emotional responses.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and relevant computer applications conducive to therapy management.

A collaborative spirit, eager to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve best outcomes for patients.
