Work Environment
This position operates within a remote work setting, perfect for counselors who enjoy flexibility while still being part of a supportive clinical environment. Our community health clinic uses innovative telehealth platforms to facilitate client interactions, ensuring that our team remains connected and collaborative. Employees can expect to work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate client scheduling needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to identify individual patient needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed care that take into account the cultural backgrounds of clients.
Provide psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions, while fostering an atmosphere conducive to healing and personal growth.
Engage in collaborative treatment planning with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Respond effectively to mental health crises through timely interventions, offering critical support and developing safety plans as necessary.
Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and local resources to empower informed decision-making.
Maintain meticulous and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy and security of sensitive information.
Actively participate in team meetings, case discussions, and continuous cultural competency training to enhance service delivery.
Stay updated on research, best practices, and advancements in mental health to continuously improve therapeutic effectiveness.
Patient Population / Client Focus
At Lighthouse Psychiatry Counseling Center, our patient population includes individuals from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with clients facing diverse mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. Your expertise will play a critical role in improving the emotional well-being of marginalized communities, enhancing our clients’ quality of life through nuanced understanding and culturally appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
Strong knowledge of clinical practices, mental health assessments, and treatment modalities with a particular focus on cultural competency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for building rapport with clients and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic medical record systems.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience providing counseling in a community mental health or outpatient setting.
Experience working with diverse populations, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other underserved groups.
Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based practice in a clinical setting.
Prior experience using telehealth services is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
