Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to formulate individualized treatment plans that effectively address their specific mental health concerns.

Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), tailored to help clients develop coping strategies, increase resilience, and improve their quality of life.

Maintain detailed and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in all client interactions.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals including psychiatrists and psychologists to create a holistic treatment approach for each client.

Engage in regular case consultations and peer review meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery and adherence to best practices.

Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, guiding them towards available treatment options and supportive resources within the community.

Commit to staying abreast of current research and emerging trends in the mental health field, integrating new knowledge into your therapeutic practices to enhance client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus You will work with clients who present a diverse range of mental health issues, including but not limited to trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, and relationship challenges. Our clientele reflects the multifaceted needs of the Galveston community, and you will play a key role in assisting individuals from various backgrounds in navigating their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

An active license in Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Proficient in solution-focused therapy techniques, demonstrating the ability to tailor interventions to meet the needs of every client.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building strong therapeutic relationships with clients.

Strong problem-solving skills, enabling effective navigation of complex client scenarios and promoting positive therapeutic outcomes.

A collaborative approach to teamwork, valuing the contributions of colleagues while supporting a culture of shared knowledge and professional growth.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a community health setting or outpatient clinic.

Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms to manage client care efficiently.

Background in crisis intervention and management, equipped to handle urgent client needs.
