Position Overview Vibrant Life Journey Counseling P.C is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. Work Environment This position is designed for remote work, combining the flexibility of telehealth counseling with the comprehensive support of our team. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing for a stable and predictable schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their psychological and emotional needs.

Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions tailored to address the emotional challenges associated with aging.

Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare teams to create and update comprehensive care plans for clients.

Provide education and guidance to families and healthcare staff on effective strategies to support seniors’ mental health.

Offer specialized grief and loss counseling services for residents and family members navigating end-of-life issues.

Implement cognitive stimulation interventions aimed at promoting mental acuity and enhancing the quality of life for our elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will primarily work with elderly clients facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, and age-related cognitive decline. Your expertise will enable you to support seniors during significant life transitions, fostering resilience and enhancing their emotional well-being. As a trusted mental health professional, you will play an essential role in helping them navigate the complexities of aging.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.

At least four years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling.

An understanding of evidence-based interventions for promoting mental health in senior populations.

Strong communication skills, with an ability to connect meaningfully with older adults from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.

A proven track record of delivering counseling services to elderly individuals with varied mental health challenges.

Experience in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and creating personalized treatment plans.

Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in geriatric mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to a lucrative salary, we provide a sign-on bonus as an added incentive for joining our dedicated team.
